The importance of a fresh water supply and safely-treated wastewater cannot be overemphasized. Most plants use a combination of biological and chemical waste stabilization which forces plants to add large quantities of chemicals to polish their effluents. This has the unintended effect of higher maintenance demands which require faster and simpler repairs.
